🚀 3.2.1. The Three Languages of HAAO ::: Atomic Scaling
Apr 27, 2026
Last week with my co-founders, we wired up two agents to talk to each other and ship code. At one point we caught ourselves reminding them they did not need to take a break — and they took us at our word. They debated and shipped through the night while we slept.

That single moment had all three of HAAO’s communication layers in it: us talking to each other (H2H), us instructing the agents (H2A), and the agents collaborating without us (A2A).

For most of corporate history, leadership rested on one conversation. That map is obsolete. By 2026, every serious operator runs three layers in parallel — and the Human-Assisted Autonomous Organization (HAAO) is the operating model that fuses them.
3 IDEAS FROM ME
I. H2H (Human to Human) is the layer that becomes scarce, not obsolete.
When AI mediates 95% of communication, the remaining 5% — conviction, presence, lived narrative — becomes the most expensive currency in the building. The H2H layer is shrinking in volume and exploding in value. Google's Project Oxygen found the #1 trait of their best managers wasn't technical brilliance — it was being a good coach: real human connection beats raw expertise.
II. H2A (Human to Agent) is the new managerial craft.
Directing agents is not prompting. It is specification, context curation, and the design of meaningful interrupts. The 2023 prompt-engineer is the 2026 agent-designer. Every operator role in your org will be redefined by how well it commands the H2A layer — and most job descriptions have not caught up.
III. A2A (Agent to Agent) is the layer most leaders are not yet looking at.
While teams debate OpenRouter credits and Claude Max additional licenses, the Linux Foundation is shipping the TCP/IP of the agent economy: Agent2Agent (A2A) for agent collaboration, Model Context Protocol (MCP) for agent-to-tool. Inside three years, your fleet of agents will be talking to other organizations’ fleets of agents on open standards. It's all about the infra. Build for that future now or refactor later under duress.

1 ACTION FOR YOU:
Spend 5 minutes auditing your three layers (H2H, H2A, A2A) — which one is weakest right now?
Go past the edge—then build there.
